Our planned journey from Leeuwarden to Giethoorn.

How to Go to the Tourist Spot?

There is an Information Center but to have a map you have to buy it. But in my opinion, just referring to this blog is enough. No map needed because when u walk just follow the walking path and you will sure reach the end and return after taking pictures.

Below are the directions to the tourist spot/location

When the bus stop at the station Dominee Hylkemaweg, cross the road and look for this bus station (as a landmark-also the bus station for going back) which located just across the road. Facing this bus station, on your left, walk straight and you will see the step with the sign ‘Centrum’

Since Giethoorn known as the Venice of Holland, most of the tourist will hire a boat to see the view from the canal. The price may vary depends by the owner of the boats. But we choose to just walk till the end. Maybe will hire the boat in the next visit 🙂

Enjoy the pictures took during our visit to Giethoorn ‘Venice of Holand’

1) View at the Visitor Information and along the entrance

2) View along the way

3) More beautiful view

4) and more of Giethoorn

5) and before going back, don’t forget to try the fresh Stroopwafels, a must try food in The Netherlands. Yummy..

To go back to train station, just make sure you are not missed the bus because the bus are coming only every 1 hour so plan your trip wisely! And the bus station that you have to wait at are the bus station that I said a landmark to the step/stairs.
